Our slates are newly quarried in the United States, hand cut to size, deeply carved, and painted with durable enamels. Slate is a natural metamorphic rock formed 500 million years ago during the Mississippian and Pennsylvanian periods in the late Paleozoic Era. Because slate is a natural product of the earth, there are features and color variations inherent in the rock. These variations enhance the natural beauty and unique character of all of our slate signs.
